Android 4.4.4 Accessibility Web Shield Setting Query
« on: February 16, 2016, 06:43:34 AM »
Since mistakenly updating to AMS5, I see there is a listing in Settings>Accessibility under Services heading that lists Avast Mobile Security, under which is written Off. When clicking on this, it appears to bring up a separate web shield setting whereby if I wish to turn it on, I need to agree to various permissions.

Now, I thought Web shield was enabled in the App settings itself, which I have done of course, so what is this extra setting for, does anyone know please? Is the web shield actually enabled through the AMS5 app or does this additional setting also need to be activated to be protected?

Hi,

that setting is meant for devices with Android 6.0 and newer. You don't need to enable it on lower API versions. I would need to check if we can disable the listing on those API versions.

So, Web Shield is correctly enabled in Android 4.4.4 through the app settings?
