Decrease of the streaming updates since a few days
« on: February 13, 2016, 12:40:10 PM »
Hi,

Since the 8th february, checking my stats, I noticed a dramatical decrease of the streaming updates.
Before this date, every time  I started my computer I received between 160 and 200 updates.
Now, very few. Only 3 or 6.
And when I loock at the updates per 24 hours, I went from an average number of 290 updates/day to 70 at best.

VPS is up to date. Program version too. And I didn't modify my parameters. Should I be worry?
Any explanation is more than welcome.
Thank you.

I actually agree with the OP here..

You can look at the amount of streaming updates received in the past 24 hours from the statistics > Component Status

Normally this is over lets say 200 normally at least but it hasn't reached past 60+ in the past few days.

Some versions back stream update did not exist and if somone discovered a day with no update it was the end of the world

maybe they are just taking a nap at the virus lab or it is just quiet out there in the malware world. If avast give no error messages evrything should be okay

I've just received 22 in the past 24 hours so it unusual.

It could also be an issue with a streaming update server.

I received 66 updates in the past 24 hours.  Of course, my laptop was turned off for the past several hours.  The VPS updated immediately when I turned it on, which negated the need for all the intermediate streaming updates.  I have no concern about the 'missing' streaming updates.

130 in the last 24 hours.

I generally don't look at the stats (until someone posts about it) as I don't feel that the info provided there is particularly informative.

Looks like a server problem but only Avast can answer this question. :)

No problems here (135 and counting), might be a server issue in your region.

That's what I believe.

BTW, I'm located in Luxembourg (Europe).
Some days ago, I opened a similar topic on the forum in French language.
The couple of people who answered  seems to have the same problem.

59 updates in the last 24 hours until now.  If this is a server issue, hopefully this wil be fixed.

I'm in the UK and I've just got 40 in the past 24 hours.

Seems like it's a server issue.

Since I'm in the UK, I can see no reason why we should have different figures for the last 24hrs (Reply #9).

Of course, the issue really is when does the 24hr period start (local time or avast HQ time), e.g. release from 00:01am Central European Time, balanced out by local time zone +/-.

There are variables which will mean we will see different figures, but those in the same time zone should in theory be the same. But we aren't seeing that.
