Device info not updating in avast account (Bug)
« on: February 14, 2016, 11:47:46 PM »
Hello guys,

I found out a bug that its happening to me.

After updating to the lastest version of avast free, I realized that all devices running windows 8 or windows 10, dont update their stats unless the computer comes from a restart. If you shutdown and turn on the computer, the stats will not be updated in avast account.

However, the green ball indicating an online stats will show up in both cases (restart and cold boot).

Thanks for your time!

Hello Tonanet,

avast should be sending stats once per day if the computer is running and connected to the Internet. By these stats I mean mostly info about yours computer hardware.
There also other stats, those are mostly about running shields and tools in your avast. They are updating also once per day, unless something changed, e.g. web shield is not running.

Can you give more detailed description on which stats are not updated correctly?

Thanks,

miraDi

Hello!

Thanks for your reply.

I mean:

The last communication Date (in an specific device it says 3 days ago, however it has been turned on everyday in the last 3 days)
Info about virus definition
Last detection info

Thanks for your time!

Hello!

Thats weird, now it seems that even with fast boot disabled, devices running windows 10 or 8, are not updating their info for days...

When you turn the computer on, it shows a green ball in the account beside the device, however it says in last communication "x days ago"...

Its happening only in devices with the last version of avast free installed...

Thanks

@  miraDi
Looking at the personal message screen, it is as I suspected, there is no attachment function in PMs.

Of course they could use a file sharing site and post the link in the PM.

Hello,

good point. Providing just support package ID should be enough, as I corrected in my previous post.

Regards,

miraDi
