I failed to mention that I have a friend having the same issue...he also uses spybot...but since I've removed spybot it hasn't resolved the issue,..
Have you tried doing an Avast repair since removing Spybot ???

I had tried manual before and it updated...will try again.

Malwarebytes is still scanning...51 detected objects so far...
Malwarebytes is still scanning...51 detected objects so far...
Which is why Malwarebytes Anti-Malware works and Spybot does not.
Windows 10 Home 64-bit 1909 Avast Premier Security version 20.1.2397 (build 20.1.5069.559) UI version 1.0.460.

Unless you know what those detections are, there really isn't any way to tell. :)

SpyBot was good in the old days of adware/spyware but not today
dont know if they do it anymore but it used to update once a week

Replace with Malwarebytes ... it may have 10 updates a day
Quote above is from Pondus:

Maybe not, but I'll take a program that updates 10 times a day over one that is updated once a week anytime.  -mchain

First one found 51 threats and fixed/quarantined them...still same issue in avast
Second one found 0 threats...still same issue in avast

....or AVAST. :p

But I'd bet that if the OP had actually used it properly, used its "Immunise" option and done a full manual system scan with Spybot it would have picked up some, may be all of them in just the same way as a manual scan with Malwarebytes (Free) has. Criticise Tea Timer for being ineffective, which it is, but at least Spybot has some real time protection that Malwarebytes (Free) doesn't.

Compare like for like ie. their manual full system scans and who knows what the results might have been. We'll never know now and all this thread will tell the future is that some people here have irrational software prejudices based on little or no evidence.

It would be interesting to know when the OP last did a Spybot system scan.

The fact is that I've only ever had one thing that Spybot didn't find that Malwarebytes has.  Every month I do a full system scan with both always starting with Spybot first, Malwarebytes next then AVAST.  I've been doing that religiously for almost 5 years. So 5 years experience using Spybot, Malwarebytes and AVAST side by side, working without any apparent conflict, apparently counts for nothing.
