How to remove unnecessary account?
« on: February 17, 2016, 12:45:01 AM »
Hi I tried to change my forum password and email a few days back but somehow ended up creating a whole new Avast account which I don't need. Is there any way I can have that account removed please as I need to change the email address to this account but I can't as it says already in use, which it is, on the account I never needed? :)

What is the Account name that you created ?

Name
This is the displayed name that people will see.

EDIT:
Sorry, I read this wrong at first thinking you wanted to delete an avast forum account.

For the newly created avast account, log-on to that my.avast.com account, open the Profile (Portrait icon or email link) that should give a drop down list > Profile Details. That should throw up another window and that has a Delete option.

Thank you. Finally got it sorted out.

(FYI, the reset password link in the forum goes to a 404 page.)

You're welcome.

I don't know where the link goes to, but I would suggest that you do everything through the my.avast.com account as logging on to the avast forum is validated via the credentials of your my.avast.com account. So changing your password their would be reflected in your forum logon/id check.
