 :oDoes anyone know how to get rid of the on-access scanner messages that flash across the screen?

Which one Standard Shield and Web Shield give details try unchecking show details as per Image
click Avast Icon (task bar)click the provider/customize/advanced

You should be able to remove one of them in the Modify post function, show the atttachments and you should be able to remove one.
