I don't think it's a bad browser TBH. I still can't figure why it won't download certain videos, is it a codec thing?

I don't mean to be too cynical, but it occurred to me that avast were desperate to push (literally) this product on everybody,
there must be something in it for them.  Do they collect more data on users, possibly ? And then sell it ?  That could be quite a revenue stream.

My guess ...

Nice that it is available for free users as well.

As for SafeZone Browser itself, I do have a question:

Should I use SafeZone browser only for important things, like visiting my bank account and/or buying things or can I use it for casual surfing too in order to avoid ads and suspected sites. I've got different advices considering this

I believe a security feature such as this one should only be used for banking and other sites requiring secure connections posted outside normal windows used in your session.  Use it only for what it is designed for and use a sandboxed browser for other things:  http://www.sandboxie.com/

Free versions here:  http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?DownloadSandboxie

Paid versions of avast offer an avast sandbox:  https://www.avast.com/en-us/f-sandbox

SafeZone Browser has a special problem with banking: it's not possible to make a screenshot from important transactions.
This way I will never use this tool !!

Personally I don't use the SafeZone Browser, I have never got on with Chrome or its Chromium cousins.

Most banking sites, certainly mine has a print function for any pages transactions, etc. I never take a screenshot but a hard copy. I also use personal finance software and I keep that updated and reconcile that against what is on my bank account/s.

I don't use any kind of sandboxing at all. I just browse normally everywhere, including my banking and PayPal sites with nothing more than the Windows Firewall and Panda Free AV. I don't even use the In Private feature of IE.

One can go overboard on their protection and make using the internet a royal pain.
The opposite is also possible. :)

I have no problems doing screenshots while using SafeZone Browser at my bank ???

Maybe the problem is the software used to do the screenshot ???

If your mobile device is a windows phone, there's no need to worry. Windows Mobile is by far the most secure mobile OS. It's practically impervious. Android is the worst.

And with less than 1% market share of little interest to hackers.

I just wonder how much longer it will be around as MS are according to an article I read Nokia is being off loaded.

Okay, here are the facts. Microsoft sold off the low end feature phone segment (mostly basic Nokia models). Those phones did not run Windows Mobile at all and were a drag on support and other resources.

They are going full blast on the mobile front in 2017 with plans for new high end Surface branded phones. Mobile was not the first priority this year as the focus was and is on the full version of Windows 10 and the establishment of the UWP platform. They have also pretty much admitted that the launch of the Lumia 950 models was a failure. Lumia will still be supported but they haven't shed any light on whether or not there will be new Lumia models alongside of the Surface phones.

After the Redstone updates and getting UWP fully up and running the plan is to go all out on the mobile front which will integrate with the PC and even Xbox devices. Windows phones are not dead. There are big things coming in the near future. This was all revealed by Microsoft and you can find the info if you look hard enough. They have a plan but consumers and the media get too impatient and some are all too ready to declare the demise of anything connected with Microsoft.

Those who are resisting the shift to Windows 10 will soon find themselves missing out on quite a lot.

As far as the security issue goes, from what I have read, in this case, market share really has nothing to do with it. Windows Mobile really is the most secure and rock solid mobile OS. There aren't even any real AV or anti-malware apps for it because they are not needed. There are a few snake oil products available that actually do nothing and are merely placebos to make people feel safer.

When no one uses the device, no one will spend the time, energy and expense to develop an infection.
Just not financially rewarding. :)

Maybe the problem is the software used to do the screenshot ?

No, Bob: I use the Print-Button that always works for screenshots sending to the clipboard.
And: somone from the Avast-team told me that this is a function for security and no error. They will work on it in the future.
I will not wait until I can work as I want. Work-around was - take your camera  >:(
