Virus Update History Available?
« on: December 24, 2003, 06:02:22 PM »
Is there anyplace to find a history of updates to the virus definition files? Something along the lines of:

update 1.2.3 - 2003-12-24 - added detection of Santa virus
update 1.2.2 - 2003-12-19 - added detection of RedNose worm
     etc.

If there isn't, could I suggest that it would be valuable for Alwil to add such a list.

Now why didn't I think of that.   Thanks for the prompt reply.

Hope everyone has a happy holiday.

Whenever the webmaster recovers from the parties ;-), could I suggest adding:

<A HREF="http://www.avast.com/i_idt_1404.html">Virus Update (VPS) History</A>

to the text or sidebar of http://www.avast.com/i_idt_250.html

You mean something like this - see the last item in the upper leftbox ;) ? It is there for months!

It is good to know it is there, as a well described link off the virus definitions page, not to mention as an invisible link off the virus update date.  I was just suggesting that making it a well described link off the virus database page (i_idt_250.html as opposed to i_kat_2.html) would have been more usable.  At least to this user.

In any case, its no big deal, just a minor suggestion.
