Avast pushes Yahoo via browser warning - disgusting
« on: April 02, 2016, 03:33:02 PM »
Doing something on Firefox, and suddenly an Avast warning obscures middles of screen with warning that "Skype Click to Call" is a bad browser add-on, and do I want to remove it?

Since I never use Skype, I clicked yes.  But next screen said that Avast would return my browser to its default setting, including Yahoo !!!  (I never ever go to Yahoo.)  I clicked cancel.

This is disgusting behavior by Avast.  There is no excuse for an anti-virus, anti-spam program to behave this way.  For shame.

For maybe two years now, Avast has thrown over its mission to help users in an ethical manner and become crass and pushy, just like a spam company.  Vile.
Various Dell Optiplexes running XP Pro SP3 32-bit, Win 7 Pro SP1 64-bit and Win 10 Pro 64-bit.  Firefox with security add-ons.
