@cleakeaj: Why are you running XP SP2? The lastest version is SP3? Why are you running an antivirus program which has an end of life product? After that product is completely goes out of end of life, you will have to again switch antivirus program. Just stick to one antivirus program that is still functioning.

For a 64Bit system, SP2 is the latest for XP.

Ok, you got me you sneaky Czech bastards  :)

Woke up this morning and turned on the old computer...  Went to the bathroom and the computer had oddly restarted.  Lo and behold, what do we see in the lower-right corner?  It's a new version of avast.

The plan was to move to an old version of NOD32 which is still being updated, but you guys are brilliant in sneaking your new version in, and you should be rewarded for your gutsy move :)

The version it installed is 12.3.3154.23, and aside from a few annoying things which are to be expected from newer versions, it's actually nice.

After disabling all the bloatware and opting out of all your data sharing stuff, it's ready to go and it's nice to have moved on from 4.8, which was getting long in the tooth.

You guys really did a good job in making all the optional stuff modular, in that you can completely uninstall it from the settings menu, and then all you're left with is the full system shield.

Here's to ten more years of Avast.

Thanks

Something not entirely correct :

https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB44 > Supported OS : Windows XP SP3, any Edition

Seems to me it should be :
Windows XP (32bit) SP3 any edition
Windows XP (64bit) SP2 any edition
