« on: January 08, 2006, 11:06:26 PM »
In the last 24 hours I have received three (two today) of failed updates and have manually connected, receiving in the last occasions advice that I am already up to date. I am a little concerned and wonder if I need adjust any setting.

As at 19:45hours today Program version was 4.6.744 and virus data base was 0601-3. My system is XP Home SP2 and Firewall is latest free Zone Alarm.

It sounds as if your firewall is not allowing avast to connect.

Check your fiewall logs/allowed programs and see if avast.setup is allowed access/being blocked, etc. Although if you are able to do a manual update check and it is confirming you are up to date this doesn't seem likely.

Hello,

Do you have a valid user license? You need to get a new one about every year (14 months) if you just installed it then didn't do anything such as getting a free license your trial license (60 Days) could have expired. If this is the problem you can get a new free license by clicking the link below.
