upgrading
« on: April 15, 2016, 05:20:51 PM »
hi, i'm a long time mcafee user and recently this fellow who did some work on this computer suggested your software, which seems to be working great.

i've recently been asked to upgrade, does this mean your free version isn't actually "free" or did this fellow install a different version on this machine.

sorry for the silly question and thank you

free = free

What you saw/see is simply avast showing a add for their paid products.

The bottom part is what I said.

The top one shows that (unless there is a error) the free version was not registered.

The main question is, was McAfee completely removed before installing avast.
If not, it can cause problems.

It is extremely important that all/any other Anti Virus Software be completely removed "Using the venders Uninstall Utility" before installing Avast, hence the link supplied by Eddy :)

My reading is that Avast needs to be registered from the screen shot
