Exclusions
« on: January 10, 2006, 02:37:11 AM »
I have Avast SBS newly installed on SBS 2003 with Exchange.

My question is are people adding Exchange databases to the exclusion list? I know this is often recommended as AV scanners can cause corruption.

If people are doing this where are they adding the exclusions - in Global Settings or the advanced properties of the Standard Shield?

1. Advanced properties in the Standard Shield (for the on-access scanner, which is probably what you want).

2. I don't think it's really necessary. Unless you move the Standard Shield sensitivity to High, it scans only files with selected extensions, and Exchange Store files are certainly not on the list of extensions.

Thanks
