1 year subscription expired after only 3 months

I paid for 1 year of Avast Anti-Virus and it has just expired and will not automatically update. I have tried to get the activation code off my account but it shows an error when I click on the button that should open to show me the code. What can I do?

Check your system date day/month/year and adjust as required.
