Updated 2 machines fine. One via the GUI and the older XP machine via the installer (as it is quicker once
the file is downloaded). All are doing well. Only thing is now and then Avast keeps telling me Avast
Firewall is Turned Off .. Of course it is, as I did not buy it or want it. Avast keeps trying to sell it.

Why on earth are the ads NOT disabled for paid users automatically?

If you pay for a product, you don't expect to see ads.

I know you can turn them off but they should be off by default.

This needs to be changed.

I reported yesterday that after updating Avast I could not load Chrome, although I had tried re-booting several times.
Well today I can load Chrome. Also, interestingly, MS-Mail would initially only load in safe-mode.
I noticed also that the Avast update changed many of my Chrome settings and added in plug-ins that I had previously deleted so I suggest users check their own settings..
What settings in Chrome were changed ???

Content Settings for Cookies, JavaScript and Plug-Ins had been reset to 'Recommended'

This is what I see:

Try a repair if it persists.

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed

I see it the same way on Windows 10 Home 64 Bit on a Toshiba Laptop. But I can't figure out how to paste an image on the forum. The icons should at least tell us what they are when you hover over them. And I don't really like to have to put a photo somewhere else just to be able to link to it.

Ah so that is how you do it. As can be seen here, I do not show those oddball extra entries.

Since yesterday Avast Free has stopped SuperAntiSpyware from being executed. This has never been a problem with previous versions. I am using W8.1. My wife has W7 and her SAS is functioning as normal.

Thanks for positive feedback. We plan to do more changes in the product soon. We will remove some features that aren't used or are causing more troubles than goodness. Our current focus is on improving detections and overall performance impact on the PC ( disk space, ram usage, web browsing speed). We will continuosly introduce these changes in the beta channel - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=15.0
Thats really good news@MartinZ

love the new version and pleased to see the inclusion of a password manager.  A bit surprised, however, that there isn't an option to import passwords from other password managers, only from a browser.

Logically, the passwards stored in your password manager are safe safe.
The passwords stored in your browser are not and Avast can import them to it's PW Mgr and,
erase them from your browser.
It would be nice to also merge those stored on another PW Mgr so you don't have to use both.
