Flagged as bad
« on: May 04, 2016, 03:42:18 PM »
Hi all.

I think you should have a look at the SNP official websites that have been flagged as dangerous. Its an obvious political dirty tricks campaign and perhaps needs to be amended. http://www.snp.org/

Yes i know, and all to do with the political party the Scottish National Party. Its an obvious effort by their political opponents supporters to blacken their name. The sites are clearly not dangerous so perhaps the Avast owners can amend this rating?

I never said it was inaccessible mate, only that it has been flagged many times as a dangerous website by political opponents. I know its small potatoes in the grand scheme of things but i just thought Avast would like to know how its website reputation system was being abused is all.

I don't understand what this topic is about :-[
We never blocked snp.org, and I do not see any malicious acitivity on it now.
The content is almost never the reason for blocking (the exception being fake shops), we only care about the possibilities of having a computer infected after visiting the website.

The political aspect may have come into the bargain, but there is also a wee bit of anomality there.

According to AOS site has a bad name, but that is due to visitor observations  ;D

The CloudFlare IP has issues: https://www.virustotal.com/nl/ip-address/190.93.247.205/information/
Result
The address you entered is unnecessarily exposing the following response headers which divulge its choice of web platform:

Server: cloudflare-nginx
X-Powered-By: Phusion Passenger 4.0.48
Configuring the application to not return unnecessary headers keeps this information silent and makes it significantly more difficult to identify the underlying frameworks.

Guys, it isnt blocked nor is this the fault of Avast. Avasts webpage rating system has been taken advantage of by the SNPs political opponents, or rather their opponents supporters, and been overwhelmingly flagged as being a dangerous site.

Of course it isnt a dangerous site, it is the official webpage of the legitimate government of Scotland. All i ask is for Avast to look into it and perhaps reset the clock as it were.

As already mentioned, contact your opposition and settle your dispute. Avast doesn't get involved in politics. :)

Hi mlbsdsd,

The political debate is exchanged via AOS web rep users and also on WOT now, as we see here in this report...
Quote from WOT user, probably of English origin:
Quote
22-05-2015
The people who want to break up the united kingdom, and the people who hate england and the english the most. oh and lies majorty of the time.
 I don't trust
So this has nothing to do with website security based web rep, website is neither malicious nor suspicious and is not flagged as such.
Maybe the English fear another political "Killiecrankie" after Brexit?  :D ;D ....
So this is certainly not the place to post this...So haste ye back to WOT "for old lang syne".

It isn't marked as dangerous, but marked as having a bad reputation and the supporting information on the expanded window is pretty weak.
