And Avast wonders why so many have left for other vendors!!! Guess since it was sold out to corporate world, all they care about is bottom line, no matter the method.
l was hoping for improvement but, alas, I am no longer holding my breath. Bye Avast. I won't use software from a company so low as to try tricking unsuspecting users. No problem for me, but what about all the poor folks who now think something is wrong with their systems?

I got that too on my Win 7 system DavidR. Never noticed it until you brought my attention to it.

Not sure to what you refer the Popup add or the display in the bottom 1/4 of the avastUI. For me the latter is the way to go less intrusive. More to the point clear wording that this is an ad/offer not an indication that you have a problem. Whilst calling it an Avast Security Alert is questionable.

Sorry for not making myself clear. I was referring to the display in the bottom ¼ of the Avast UI.

I hardly ever open the UI unless I need it to answer a question or do a screen capture.
I didn't notice this in the UI either.

Snap, I don't live in the UI with main exception of screen captures for use in the forums.

This usage of the UI to deliver ads/promotions/offers, etc. used to be the way it was some time ago. They were much less intrusive (obviously), one thing for sure they weren't misleading/deceptive/fud as some of these popups are.

Guys, thanks for the heads-up.
I personally do not like this campaign. We are turning it off right now. At the same time, we are trying to improve our internal processes to prevent situations like this one.
