What OS/SP ?
What exact avast version ?
What browser are you using ?
What is asking you to make changes in settings ? (screenshot could help)
I use Windows 7 Pro
The latest Avast version
Internet Explorer 11
I am not being asked to change my settings. I don't understand what the problem is that I am trying to figure out or why I can't access a certain website I go on quite often. I can access some pages on the website but can't see anywhere to log on, and when I click onto the page after the main page on that page, there is a circle in the middle which keeps turning around and can go no further, but I can go back and access other pages but some pictures that should be there are blank.
Then I click on the small padlock icon at the top of the website address bar, it says "Security Report" when I click on that, a popup appears which says "Website Identifcation" -below that says "
"Avast Web/Mail Shield Root had identified this site as "www, etc) -under that is "this connection to the server is encrypted".
Next message block says "Certificates" at the top , then "Issued to (name of website) "issued by "Avast web/mail Shield Root" valid 04/02/2016 to 04/02/2017.
I don't understand anything about certificates. I am only interested in why I can't access the website and why is Avast Virus name got to do with any of this? I emailed the website I want to access and asked if they know why I can't access their website to browse around. I gave them the same information I am giving you and they emailed me back and said they tried to duplicate what I did, but said they couldn't and didn't know why I would have a problem accessing their website and asked if I found out anything from Avast to let them know.
I am still having a problem when I log onto my computer and I usually just get the desktop, but there is a popup from Avast asking f I trust or allow them to change some information or something on the web. That popup on boot happened around the same time I had the problem about accessing the website, but may not be related to it. It is too confusing to me. Maybe I should try "system restore" though that often has never worked for me. I don't know what else I can do. Should I contact Avast customer service? Thanks.
