Im not sure what happens to the data, but the mini store is NOT spyware.
And the comment about apple forcing OS registration harder than microsoft is not true, when you start OS X for the first time You are submitting your Hardware Serial number to apple to Register your computer so apple will know how to track your warrenty information. OS X itself is never registered only the Mac itself

I see how quickly the forum turned anti-apple after I left for a few months

Hello,

I am not anti Apple I would change to apple myself but I just got another new PC. If there is a way to put OSX on it with Windows XP I would but I am not sure that you can. If there is please tell me.

Justin not saying you are anti apple.

to awnser your question, yes you can put Mac OS X on a PC if the PC uses EFI (next generation BIOS) afterall the new intel macs are PCs just with the new EFI technology developed by intel, Windows vista should support EFI and then you will see more PCs with EFI

if you run Windows XP then it does not use EFI as WIndows XP will not boot on a machine useing EFI however WIndows Media Center edition will if im not mistaken

Dear Mac,

As I read Win XP will not be refitted with EFI, Window users have to wait for Vista for support. It really means that Windows XP for home users is abandoned at the end of this year.

yea MS does not support their OS long after the new version is released.

Apple has the following support plan

if 10.4.x is the current version the supported versions are like this

10.4.x Full support
10.3.x Full support but no more .1 updates
10.2.x Security updates only

when 10.5 come sout 10.4 still has support but no .1 updates, 10.3 gets security updates only and all 10.2 support is dropped 10.6 comes out 10.3 is dropped etc

I believe Microsoft uses a similar plan (I mentioned it in quite a few threads already).  Although support may end for Windows XP this year, security updates will still be available.  I think refitting XP for EFI usage would also be pointless.  This is based on some personal observations that most computers that use EFI will support Vista flawlessly.

Hi Mac,

Well it is just important to know where the "positioning" of these platforms are going. I am not going to shout the word Microsoft in a graphical environment, because I know from old Mac is the domineering OS there. You can be sure we are not going to compare apples and pears here.
