Possibly infected GoogleChrome/Laptop?
« on: May 26, 2016, 02:15:30 AM »
Hello,

Just this evening I was browsing 9gag with my friends, when suddenly Avast popped up a message saying: Blocked JS:ScriptIP-inf [Trj] from the website terraclicks, in the place where I have installed Google Chrome. (Chrome.exe).
After that I ran a full Avastscan, found nothing, and also ran a MBAM scan, didn't find anything either.
I haven't seen the popup after that so uptil now it was a one time thing. Also when I acces different websites, they load all perfectly fine, without any popups. Though my facebook page/instagram page was terribly slow this afternoon, it loads now perfectly fine too.

Can someone tell me if this might have been a FP? And if i'm safe now? I know this virus can be a real pain in the ass, so just looking for confirmation and/or help if I might have to do more to find out if its still there.

Thanks!

Impossible to say from info given ... a screenshot of avast popup always help

So it blocked a website java script it did not like, most likely website ad ... terraclicks.com seems to be just that

The Terraclicks.com pop-up ads are caused by an adware program, which is distributed through various monetization platforms during installation. This adware program is typically added when you install another free software (video recording, download-managers or PDF creators) that had bundled into their installation this adware program.
When this malicious program is installed, whenever you will browse the Internet, an ad from Terraclicks.com will randomly pop-up. These ads are aimed to promote the installation of additional questionable content including web browser toolbars, optimization utilities and other products, all so the Terraclicks.com publisher can generate pay-per-click revenue.

If you want a check ....

See instructions here  >>  https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
Scroll down to second picture > Farbar Recovery Scan Tool < Run as instructed and attach the two diagnostic logs

See below the box you write in ... Attachments and other options

When done a expert will check logs later today

This domain is operated by Adsterra Premium Ad Network
http://www.terraclicks.com
Seems like a bad ad on that site to me.

If so, should I take action on this? Or was this ad only a threat when it was on that specific page and it is resolved now?
