Windows Do Not reccomend to use outside clean up programs

I read at window's forum. They do not reccomend to use PC clean-up outside programs... Reason is Windows Register. On Forum it is pointed out that to Dig register by cleaning programs may lead to OS hanging and Windows re-installation... Avast, what can You tell about this ?

They are doing that for years.
There is nothing wrong with a good util like CCleaner or The Glary Utilities.

Sure, if there is a bug or false positive, the registry can get damaged.
But that also can happen with their tools.

Noted. But Is Avast CleanUp and Ccleaner absolutely the same by function ?

They do overlap, but each will detect things that the other don't.
