Has totally screwed up my system
 I am totally UNPROTECTED I spoke to avast after an hour wait on phone
  told its a conflict with new windows and their new nitro
     YOU HAVE NO PROTECTION - you can still get on the net BUT only visited sites you know

                 I Love avast but this is most foolish act i have seen any anti virus DO it is their job to make sure their will be no conflicts I can't even imagine how many people will end up with viruses let alone I already know 50 or more people in my tech group uninstall it and move to Avira

Some facts:
1. You spoke to a third party support group not Avast.
2. You were never unprotected.
3. The message you received that said "You are Not Protected" was a result of no communication between the actual part of Avast that protected you and,
the part of Avast that relayed messages to you about your protection.
The protection Always Worked - The communication informing you of your protection was broken.
The newly release fix, fixed the messenger. :)

Just updated as a message popped up been holding off after the problem last time.  same problem this time but have run all the support tool and emailed details off so fingers crossed it should get sorted this time.  After running the support tool the cpu useage dropped down to it's normal usage.  Maybe i should just run the tool when it happens ;)
