Customers with random OS have this issue so its difficult to troubleshoot this problem I agree. I use this function quite often to make sure that my settings are-always in tact and I have try literally everything possible thing to figure this out, avast clean install, uninstalling Outpost, even clean windows which I have ISO of it and that is with nothing on it except SP1, nothing makes a difference.
In fact I have 2 identical workstations with the same software and hardware bit for bit and after creating image of both and comparing them, binary are the same and in one that works and the other doesn't, go figure.
But I heard this was similar issue in earlier version of avast e.g. 7-8 and they have fixed that, so they should have some clue I don't
know
