can't receive or send Eudora mail

After installing Avast 4.3 Home version, I can't send or receive mail via Eudora unless I stop the Internet Email provider.  Can't figure out how to adjust this.  Can someone please show me the way?

Into the firewall settings, did you allow C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe (avast! e-Mail Scanner Service) to connect?

Are you sure you have installed avast 4.3? We are using the 4.6 version...
