File scan error

When I scan my CD drive (which shows as empty} It comes up with the window "Some files couldnt be scaned" on results window it has " Error. drive  not ready (21)
I know Something is wrong with my CD drive but I can't seem to figure the exact issue

Why are you trying a CD drive when there is no (readable) cd in it ?

Because its not empty and Im having Drive issues. So I scanned it just to see what would happen. Thought maybe you had seen the error before and could help me figure whats wrong with it

Because it gave the error code dude. If you cant answer the question fine. Im just troubleshooting it

Ofcourse avast gives a error if the drive is not working (properly), but so will explorer, any media player and all other applications that are trying to use the drive.

I really am enjoying this little conversation. The error was a specific error ok. It doesnt say, unable to scan and some Genaric code number. Mods can lock this topic as Im done talking to the audience.

Error. drive  not ready (21) < That is a system error code, not from avast.
