Ports Being Scanned
« on: June 29, 2016, 12:21:32 AM »
I noticed a few days ago that about 50 ports were being scanned inside of my network once aday.  Doing a Anti-malware and virus scan did not show any results.  I installed a process monitor to  monitor the processes and network activity on the affected machine as well as using Glasswire and Wireshark.  It showed that Avast was doing the port scanning.  I made sure that the "Home Network Security" was turned off but it still continued to happen once a day - everyday.  I finally un-installed Avast and it stopped.  Has anyone else seen this type of problem?  Could my machine be infected and the Mal-ware is using avast some how for the port scanning?  I am running the free Avast.

Any help or suggestions are much appreciated.

There is no problem, avast is just doing what it is supposed to do.

Portscan is a standard feature of HNS module.
Disabling the module should definitely stop the portscaning. We are investigating it.
