My WOT and Similar
« on: November 17, 2016, 07:50:46 PM »
Hi, a few days ago (like i'm sure happened for several people) avast told me to remove My WOT. i've since read a few of the topics on here and seen the problems.

My question is, are there similar addons that are trustworthy that i can use? preferably like MY WOT that would add Good/Bad symbols to google searches.

Has anyone had any experience with Norton Safe Web or McAfee SiteAdvisor? will adding them effect my Avast?

Thanks

Better with Norton DNS  >>  https://dns.norton.com/

Alternative OpenDNS

I've gotten rid of WOT. I used it strictly as a backup scan. Currently AOS is what I rely on. :)
Sorry but no Norton on my system. I got rid of Norton back in 2003 when I found Avast. :)

Crazy Monkey:  Bitdefender Traffic Light (http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/trafficlight.html) was mentioned on another forum discussing WOT.  I uninstalled WOT when the story broke and am now using Traffic Light.  Also using Norton DNS - belt & suspenders.  Norton DNS has prevented me from traipsing where I shouldn't have gone more than once.

I'm quit happy with Avast SecureLine. No Norton for me. :)

Sorry, my bad. Still wouldn't use Norton. I've used OpenDNS for many years
I posted about using it here on the forum back in 2006:
