Avast False Positive on entire website (URL blocking)
« on: July 08, 2016, 12:13:43 AM »
Hi,

Every person I know that uses Avast is getting a entire website (URL Blocking) false positive for some time now.

I have reported the URL to Avast via https://www.avast.com/report-a-url.php, but have had no response.

Url is yvettewain.com.au. (and any sub domains of that url)

This is my wifes business. She runs a Finance and Mortgage Services company.

Please advise what can be done.

I.e. There must be some way of determining which complete url was identified as malicious (if any), so that I may hunt it down and determine the cause.

Cheers
Martin Wain

Hello

https://freedns.afraid.org/

hxxp://yvettewain.com.au is hosted on the server

ns1.afraid.org
ns2.afraid.org
ns3.afraid.org
ns4.afraid.org

Any domain hosted on afraid.org can be used by other persons for dns hosting without your control. It happened for your domain, it was misused for malicious purposes - in that case, when nobody has control on subdomains of domain (DNS hijacking), we block the whole domain in order to protect our users. For you, the solution is most probably only changing the dns hosting and letting us know later.
