Avast Clear Uninstall keeps trying to boot into safe mode
« on: July 14, 2016, 07:51:34 AM »
I'm running Windows 7 64bit. I used the uninstaller to try and remove a previous installation of Avast so I could reinstall. My computer didn't restart, so I ran the program again and it restarted the second time. When it came to boot into safe mode or normal Windows 7, I had two options for Avast Clear Uninstall and one for Windows. I booted into one of the Avast Clear Uninstall options and ran the uninstaller successfully. However, the other option for Avast Clear Uninstall is still available every single time I reboot my computer. How do I get rid of the option? I tried rebooting into the option and running the uninstaller from it, but that didn't clear it out.]

EDIT: I figured it out. Here's what I did for future reference:

1. Opened msconfig
2. Clicked on Boot tab
3. Deleted the Avast Clear Uninstall entry
