« on: December 04, 2003, 11:45:34 PM »
I just recieved an email saying my registration has expired because it was registered a year ago. I haven't even had a computer for a year.

Should I just reregister or what?

Thanks

Yeah... same thing just happened to me too ! I registered for the first time my copy of Avast! Home Edition (free) few days ago (one or two weeks, maybe...). When I registered my copy I got this messaage: "...your registration is valid for 14 months...". What's this now ? Is that some kind of mistake or what ?
BTW, This is the original message I've got today:

Quote
* This mail was sent to this address because it was filled in
* the registration form at http://www.avast.com/i_kat_207.php?lang=ENG
* If you got this mail by mistake, you may delete it immediately or forward
* this message to unregister@avast.com.

Dear avast! user,

Thank you for using our antivirus - avast! Home Edition. Because you registered the program one year ago the validity of activation key will expire within few days and it will not be possible to update the virus database of avast! program. So please register again. You will receive new activation key. By entering this key into avast you will be allowed to get updates for the next one year.

avast32 3.0 users
The new avast! 4 Home Edition is already available. You can download it from page: http://www.avast.com/i_idt_1016.html. We strongly recommend the upgrade to all home users!
If you would like to continue using avast32 3.0 program, use the registration form of avast! 4 Home Edition:
http://www.asw.cz/i_kat_207.php?lang=ENG (the key for version 4 is the same as for version 3)

avast! 4 users
registration form can be found here:

If you would like to buy avast! 4 Professional or any other commercial editions please visit:

You can check the validity of your registration key in the About box. The key you've received is valid for 14 months - meaning that if you've registered recently, you don't have to worry about it expiring...
