Firstly if it is known spyware then please edit the Link so it isn't active, either using the Code tab or by breaking the URL up so we can still see it but it isn't active.
Code: [Select]
http://www.syssecuritysite.com/Or
http :// www . syssecuritysite.com/

What is your OS - What is your Browser - are they up to date ?

This is a browser hijack so the use of the following:
If you haven't already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it.
1. Ad-Aware
2. Spybot Search and Destroy
3. Spywareblaster Don't install this until you are clean.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Whilst there is nothing hard and fast about doing it we advise it so that there is no accidental exposure by the curious, You can use the Modify button to edit your post and since you originated the Topic you can also edit the title.

This is possibly the first case of what may be browser hijacking in IE7 that we've seen in the forums. Also useful as a diagnostic tool - Download HiJackThis.zip - HJT Information HiJackThis Tutorial 1 or HiJackThis Tutorial 2
For an on-line analysis - HiJackThis Log file - On-line Analysis OR HiJackThis Log file - On-line Analysis 2 Or post the contents here.
Ignore any 023 reference to avast processes, this is a hiccup in the HJT 1.99.1 (especially missing file entry for avast), if you need any help with any of the analysis let us know.

 :)  Hi "Havenoclue" :

People with syssecuritysite are asking for help on various
antiSPYWARE forums ; it appears to be a new spyware.
I recommend you go to the forum of your antiSPYWARE
provider; if you know of none, try www.landzdown.com .

Just in case anyone is or has made the numerous attempts to remove this, as I have done by downloading every single virus/spyware utility going, only to find it keeps popping back up....

Remove the Video Codec you downloaded before it happened, then run SpyBot S&D or something similar to get rid of it once and for all.  You can remove the video codec through add remove programs.

I am FINALLY clear!!!  ;D

Hi c4thb

Now after your machine is clean, protect it with the three recommended anti-spyware solutions: Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & Destroy, and if your machine is completely clean install SpywareBlaster and update these programs regularly.
To establish if your computer is free of spyware, foistware, riskware and adware try an online scan by downloading spyaudit
from here: http://www.snapfiles.com/php/download.php?id=107886&a=7113187&tag=1482384&loc=2
