FF 1.5 & JRE 1.5.0_06 incompatible ?

In Flock no problem, Duke dancing his head off with the latest Sun Java version.

The inability to check the <applet> box seems to be intended and not necessary for Java to work in Firefox:

The "Applet Tag Support" settings described in step 1 do not apply to Firefox. Firefox automatically scans for the Java plugins and will use them if found. Skip step 1 if you are using Firefox.

1. Open the Windows Control Panel , "Java Plugin". In the Java Control Panel, go to "Advanced -> Applet Tag Support", check "Mozilla and Netscape" and click "OK" to activate support for your browser.

No older versions of netscape installed the Duke will not is not dancing thanks for the help
I'll get this one fixed can't be too much of a problem

Java and the dancing Duke are now operating fine in FF thanks for the help

No problems here either.  Actually, the FF 1.5 and Sun Update 6 are the first versions of the two that have consistently worked well together for me.
