VPS out of date while avast is not installed.
« on: July 31, 2016, 01:47:36 PM »
On 22 Jul 2016 I removed everything from avast on all my devices. (avast cloud free, AMS, AAT)

Today I received a email that there was a notification from "Avast for Business" <a4b@avast. saying "Virus database is out of date on ...."
How can a vps being detected as out-of-date while avast is not even installed ?

In both the business account as well as the private account no devices are listed.

Hi Eddy, as this came in per email, you might need to delete your account(s).
I'm just guessing here, though... ;)

I think I had the same problem a while back because I had infrequent notifications set and the event happened before I uninstalled.  I have a feeling the report query doesn't have any smarts, just reports anything that ever happened (possibly even if the machine finally gets up-to-date the old event still gets reported).

If it happens again in a week's time, I'd worry then.

It happened again yesterday.
Makes you wonder if it even checks what vps version is installed or that is just assumes you have a old vps installed if it can't check.
