The emergency update was already released for Avast 12.2.2276It is
safe now to perform a clean installation using the on-line installer on Skylake CPUs running Windows Anniversary Update.
For those, who disabled VT-x as a workaround and want to verify that the emergency update was successfully applied on their Avast 12.2.2276, please reboot first and then check the file version of following file:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\aswvmm.sys
File version of successfully patched file is: 12.2.3126.4
In fact, it is now safe to perform an installation using both offline and online installer. However, you need to be on-line while installing because all emergency updates are being downloaded during the installation. Anyway, it is safer to use the online installer, because it works only when internet connection is available.
When installation without internet connection is needed, the only way so far is the Beta offline installer:
