So is it completely safe now, no more BSOD during install or after? I ran Avast Emergency Updater, reboot, checked aswvmm.sys is 12.2.3126.4 and am about to run Windows Update. Do I still have to disable Intel Virtualization Tech?
On a Tablet PC on which I was getting reboot loops "my Microsoft Surface Pro 4 from my signature" the installation (Online) is now working once more without having to change UEFI settings.
For me the following PC's / Tablet PC are running Windows Pro 10 Anniversay Update (1607) fine:
- Asus-x99 Deluxe/U3.1 CPU i7 = Oke
- Microsoft Surface Pro 4 CPU i7 = Oke now (No more crash/BSOD/reloot loops after it was written the emergency patch had been release)
- MSI-x58Pro CPU i7 = Oke
- MacBookPro CPU i7 (with bootcamp) = Oke
- VMWare Workstation 12 Pro (guest PC for upcoming "Windows 10 Pro Fast Ring Insider Preview" testing) on the Asus-X99 Deluxe/U3.1 (host PC) = Oke
So I assume it is "safe enough" to try once again.
Note: "safe" is never safe as any PC/Tablet PC is never the same.
Tonight I will also be running a Windows 10 Pro Anniversy Update virtual PC (also for "Windows 10 Pro Fast Ring Insider Preview" testing) in either VMWare Fusion 8 / Parallels 11 on the MacBookPro CPU i7 as I am sure enough it will run just fine with my "Avast! Internet Security" software.
