UI suggestion/issue (Rescue Disk)
« on: June 25, 2016, 06:15:40 PM »
When we're creating Rescue Disc, the progress bar does not move while downloading.
I suggest it is included in the setup progress.

Besides, the text is very near to the bottom while there are so many empty space in the interface.
I suggest a better distribution of the UI components.

Yes, same behavior here, left system in this state for ten minutes, no change or update.

Seems fix is to disable avast self-defense yet again, then all works as it should.  See sig below for current avast version.
Windows 10 Home 64-bit 22H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.1.6099 (build 24.1.88821.762)  UI version 1.0.797
 UI version 1.0.788.  Windows 11 Home 23H2 - Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.2.6105 (build 24.1.8918.827) UI version 1.0.801

I've recently installed Avast 12.2.2276 Free, on XP, and cannot get the Rescue Disk to create a USB. It says "Creating..." "Downloading toolkit..." for many minutes and then quits. I've tried disabling Avast Self-Defence Module and it does not help. There is no Evenlog file in C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\ and the latest modified file is in C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\setup but nothing with todays date. I have a lot of experience with creating bootable USB keys as both a user and a programmer, but it is sad there is no log file to even begin troubleshooting this issue.

Resurrecting an old topic is never a good idea. :)

And the creation completed successfully. Version 12.2.3126.2
I'm on Windows 10 v.1607 so it may have something to do with the fact that you're using Windows XP

Actually, I resurrected this ~40 day topic because it was the most recent, and provided a solution that did not work for me. I see from your version 12.2.3126.2 on Win7 and my version 12.2.2276 that they are the same as I put the first part and you put the 2nd/Build part. Settings, About Avast actually shows "12.2.2276 (Build 12.2.3126.2)".

Regardless, maybe the latest works for you but Avast may not be updating XP for this issue. I think my post was still a good idea because it clarified what might be working and what is not working.
