security center still cant find avast, vista 32, thought this was fixed by now. or is the security fix only for win 10?
Its running but its still annoying....

EDIT: ok after a few restarts security center now finds it, tho win def is turned off and avast is running in its place. I assume it replaces win def? I am not very good at programs etc so I have to ask, is it better this way ?

Avast seems to think Winrar 5.40 has a virus ... This is totally wrong. Please get the definitions updated.
I had submitted it as a False Positive and also sent a note to the Winrar group.

Installed over RTM version (I guess it is the same version). Everything is fine.

Thank-you - Downloaded off-line installer and installed over 12.2.2276 about to reboot.

Just wondering why you used the off-line installer rather that updating via the application?

Because you can do a custom installation - program updates from the UI, generally will only update the modules that you have installed.  But if there are any new elements added to the free version then you are likely to get those during the update.

Zero false positives??? Are you kidding me????
<snip>

I was quoting a specific example of a reasonably well know AV testing company.
EDIT: Inclusion of a recent AV test results http://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php?chart=chart2&year=2016&month=7&sort=1&zoom=2.

I rarely ever encounter FPs and those that you mention are more prone to detection as they are tools that because of their function could well be used for good or evil. Commonly called PUPs and it doesn't help if they aren't digitally signed.

I don't know how you reported them, but if it doesn't include the sample then it may not be analysed. The chest has a means of Submitting to the virus labs.

No problems updating thru the GUI.  I was pleased to see that SafePrice is now included in the Components section ... guess it somehow got missed in the previous update.

This has NOT been addressed:
https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=189688.msg1332450#msg1332450

So... Rescue Disc has not been fixed? ??? How about the settings' back-up functionality -- still faulty, too?

P.S. Does anyone have a source where I can download the full installer of version 11.2.2262 of Avast? It's the version I am currently still using due to aforementioned issues, but I no longer have the installer. :( Thanks in advance!

Any ETA on when avast is going to stop proposing to upgrade IE 11 on Windows 10 AU?  I think this was supposed to be fixed a week or so ago.
