Since update: Have to disable all shield controls to send and receive email (using Windows Live Mail 2012), also Rescue disk doesn't work anymore (unable to launch main Avast! Rescue Disk Shell, awshell.exe.).

Performed a clean install resulted in no change, I guess I am the only one with this problem.

I updated through the GUI, the update installed fine, past issues that I had which would not go away even after re-installing have now gone, such as:

* When selecting boot time scan, the box which appears to tell you to restart the pc was slow and took a while to pop up, now appears instantly. The slow appearance of the restart ur pc box when selecting boot time scan is now fixed within this new update :) awesome thanks, just for testing purposes I did reinstall the previous avast version only to find the problem return. This confirms the avast version at the time was the issue.

Issues that I have with the current version:

* The entire avast program has slowed my pc, its not massively slow but where programs use to open in a instant now take a few seconds.

PC SPECS:

i5 4690k & 4.1ghzt
gtx 980
16gb ram
samsung evo 850 ssd 250gb
Avast Free version, latest update installed: 12.3.2280 (Build: 12.3.3154.0)

I just updated to the latest version of Avast.  Now I have no icon showing on my desktop and the same with the SafeZone browser in the task bar.  I've repaired twice but didn't change anything.

What could be causing this?

Any replies would be appreciated.

Thank you.

A third repair fixed it.

I hope Avast Team will allow to configure (check-box?) HAV (hardware assisted virtualization) in the upcoming AvastUI version.

Was already at Avast 2280 as I am currently running Avast 2280 Premier Beta.

To start with this topic was started on the 16 August 2016 - so 2280 has been around for a while.

Next you aren't running a beta build as there isn't one in progress.

When you take part in the Beta program testing, the BETA annotation remains on the avast UI - it isn't saying you are using a beta version - when a new beta is released all of those who have run the beta builds in the past will be updated. Or they may be notified of a new beta program, depending on your Program Update settings.

Why it need about a minute or more after logon into my computer, to activate avast GUI by double click avast icon on notification area?
It happen from the first avast 12 release.
It didn't happen on avast 11.
Is this a bug?
I'm using Win7 x64.

Edited:
Only file, web, mail and rescue disk component on my TESTED avast 12.

Likely because your system is still booting (there are still things loading).
