no, it isn't.

After logon, no harddisk activity, a minute or more, then I can activate avast GUI.
it happen also if I'm disabling avast shield. Its icon should change into disabling state immediately after logon whether there is hdd activifty or not like avast 11 aka avast 2015.

Edited:
avast 2016 not avast 2015, sorry...
I hate year name...

Hi guys I have never experienced this before but randomly this has happened twice my avast today, I get a message in my task bar saying teh following "you are unprotected click to resolve all" I did that twice, I have the latest update installed Build: 12.3.3154.2  and vesrion: 12.3.2280, Windows 10 anniversary update 64bit. I have never encountered this before and nothing new has been added in regards to software or hardware. I saw this happening on two of my other pc's which kinda of confirms this is a bug. Can you please tell whats happening here.

Repair Avast:
1. Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Avast
2. Click on 'Repair'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

Its fresh install from offline setup.

This is behavior for current avast release:
Avast 12 shield disabled -> avast icon changes with red x in notification area -> restart my pc -> no red x with avast icon in notification area -> wait a minute or more -> avast icon changes with red x in notification area.

This is behavior for latest avast 11 release:
Avast 11 shield disabled -> avast icon changes with red x in notification area -> restart my pc -> avast icon still with red x in notification area.

Hi thanks for ur suggestion but I dont think its a error with my avast, https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=190625.0

Others are having the same issue as i have posted the URL, I had very minmal stuff on my pc so I decided to format my pc and re install the OS and the same issue happened again. I believe this is indeed a bug with avast.

I just went back to a older release of avast and the problem has gone, but the interface keeps telling me to update to the newer version, when i update and leave avast alone once its installed the problem pops back and i have to turn the shields back on when the message pops telling me "you are unprotected". This must prove this is a bug if the older version is fine, and many others having the same issue.

Problem with version 12.3.2280 / XP SP3

I recently submitted a Support Ticket to the Avast Team.

I successfully used AvastClear Uninstall Utility in Safe Mode and then installed Avast antivirus version 12.3.2280, as per their instructions.

But today I encountered a problem.

Wanted to carry out an installation so I held my mouse over the Avast tray icon and disabled all shields for 1 hour.

Security Center reacted immediately and warned me that Avast antivirus had been turned off.....

Normally a red cross appears in the Avast tray icon when I do this, but it didn't and when I held my mouse over it: "Your system is secured." incorrectly showed.

I right clicked on it to enable all shields but nothing happened / showed.

I clicked on the desktop shortcut to open the Avast antivirus program, it wouldn't open.

I turned the computer off, then received a "AvastTrayIcon is not responding" notice. So I clicked on 'End now'.

I restarted the computer, tried the same again (disabling then enabling all shields) but no different, I can't enable them after turning them off, the Avast program won't open?

The Avast tray icon still incorrectly shows: "Your system is secured."

1 hour has passed by, but Avast shields have not been automatically enabled, as they should have been?

Security Center shows my computer is at risk (unless I restart it).
