"Scan failed"
« on: August 22, 2016, 06:40:52 PM »
So, I've just got Avast and removed AVG, and normally every night before I go to bed, I run a full system scan. With avast, I have it set to the highest sensitivity, and it is configured to scan every part of my computer and all the "Packers" are selected. I happen to be a paranoid person, so when I go to bed at night I disconnect my Ethernet cable to my PC, could this be why it fails to scan? There are no error codes, all I have is this screenshot: https://gyazo.com/874f6071fa418240e0e202ca0157af44

Thank you.

avast have been around for 25+ years, and these guys work with malware 24/7, don't you think they know best what work and dont work?

I suggest using default scan settings for a problem free avast

avast realtime protection scan evrything that goes on in your computer when it is on, so frequent full scan is not needed

try with default scan settings and report back

Hello, thank you for the answer, however, there are options for a reason. Customizing my scanning using these options should not cause problems, and I am looking for suggestions on how to fix this problem. I will do this scan again before I go to bed right now and leave my internet on to see if this fixes the problem. I'll also be going over my scan settings to see if I could have messed it up somehow, however I can't think of any options that would result in a failed scan.
