svchost (secsvcs) gone after update?
« on: August 24, 2016, 12:25:31 AM »
After the last avast update, I noticed one of my scvhost processes was no longer running. after some digging I figured out it was secsvcs, which is apparently related to windows defender

is this suppose to happen? I'm not worried about windows defender, to clarify, just worried about what may have made it deactivate.

Latest Windows disables Defender when a av is installed.
On earlier versions of Windows avast disables defender.

I haven't updated windows in awhile, was it only this last avast update that disables defender in older versions?
