DNS Leak
« on: August 08, 2016, 09:06:56 PM »
Hello,

Running an updated version of windows 8.

The Avast VPN claims to protect against DNS leaks but using several websites to test for this, I can clearly tell this isn't the case.

How can this be resolved?

Thank you.

Please post the links to the test results.

I used the following:

www.dnsleaktest.com
http://dnsleak.com
https://ipleak.net/

There is no link to my test results but all of them reveal the local servers and IP addresses of my ISP.

I should add that these addresses are the same regardless of whether the VPN is on or off.

Hi age43,

Sorry for the late reply.  We will look into this right away and post back when we have some further info, hopefully later today.

Thanks for your patience,

Hi ag43,

what do you mean updated windows 8? Is it windows 8.1 or just fully updated windows 8?

By Avast VPN you mean SecureLine Standalone product or add-on in Avast Antivirus?

I tried all websites you mentioned with windows 8.1 (both x86 and x64) and according the results there are no dns leaks at all.

Regars,
