Upset client
« on: August 24, 2016, 04:36:11 PM »
I am sick and tired that when performing a smart scan in my licensed Avast Internet Security, results shows Firefox needs update and when clicked, update fails. Then the most annoying issue is that when I hit next to resolve the other issues found (always the 3 same issues), including performance, then you try to sell me another of your products to solve all 3 of them.

Have you checked the installed components ?
Have you disabled the "show pop-ups for other avast products" ?

Ofcourse avast is trying to sell things, it is a commercial company.

Well, when I said "you" I was referring to Avast Company, because I thought this forum was pertinent and informative to them. I am not sure if it is a pop-up, the thing is it does not solve the issues identified. I know they try to sell but I already bought a program that is supposed to fix the issues it finds. Thank you for your replies and suggestions.

No, you bought a av with some extra's.
You did not buy avast CleanUp which is a separate product.

Hi rsarria09 :)

- When a software/Firefox update with Avast fails try this :

Avast - Scan - Scan for outdated software - Software Updater Settings - Database reset (troubleshooting) - Reset database now - yes.

- To uninstall the Avast Cleanup module :

1) Start - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - Avast - Change.
2) Change.
3) Under Performance uncheck Cleanup.
4) Continue.
5) Reboot.
