Small Avast GUI bug
« on: August 26, 2016, 08:16:32 PM »
Hi guys :)

I've found a small Avast GUI bug, nothing special but funny to post :P

To reproduce it, you need to have a second language installed.
You can do that here : Avast - Settings - General - Install additional languages.
And close the Avast GUI.

What you have to do is select: Avast - Tools - Rescue Disk - and now : Settings - General - Language - select a different language - ok.
And than select the orange home icon ( see screenshot ).

Btw. if you select : Tools - Rescue Disk - Menu , everything will be normal again.

Greetz, Red.

Confirmed, reproducible with Avast Pro 12.3.2280 (build 12.3.3154.0).
Same happens with Sandbox, Software Updater or anything similar.
Desktop: Win10 Pro 22H2 64bit / Core i5-7400 3.0GHz / 32GB RAM / Avast 23 Premium Beta(Icarus) / Comodo Firewall
Notebook: Win10 Pro 22H2 64bit / Core i5-3340M 2.7GHz / 12GB RAM / Avast 23 Free / Windows Firewall Control
Server: Win11 Pro 23H2 64bit / Core i3-4010U 1.7GHz / 12GB RAM / Avast One 23 Essential

Thnx NON :)

Yes, it happens with anyhing similar.
I have discovered it when posting about the Firewall, but just gave an example available in Avast Free.

Hi Red & NON,

thanks for reporting this. Since this is not a critical issue, I am afraid that the fix will be delivered with next major program update.

Keep it on and thanks again,
B.

By the way, Rescue Disc doesn't work.

I remember that (a long time ago) people could download a ISO and could create a rescue disk with that.
I'm not sure but I think it could be used for 1 month.
Perhaps it is possible to make something like that available till the rescue disk fix is released.

Till this problem is fixed, this may help:

That iso was used really long time ago, now we are not using it, so i can't post any link, since there isn't any.
The good news is that we will release uUpdate containing the fix today or tomorrow, the latest.

Sorry for troubles,
B.
