Scam e-mail supposedly from Avast?
« on: September 01, 2016, 03:19:32 AM »
Hi, all,

(If this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move/delete.)  Just got an e-mail supposedly from Avast with the subject line "Thanks for Leaving." Goes on to say even though I'm leaving they've learned from me, etc., etc.  Only problem is I haven't cancelled Avast. I checked my account status and it says all licenses are valid with auto-renewal, one in November and the other not until 2017. I suspect this is phishing, but want to be sure. Anyone else receive anything like this?

Thanks!

Same message came for me, formatted just like all spam messages I get where there is no text, just embedded images. Though this time all of the return address and images point back to avast.com

I did not quit/leave anything.

Will attempt to attach screen shot of email displayed in firefox.
