Unable to start boot time scan.

When I try to do a boot time scan I get a window that says...

Avast Information
Unable to start scar.
The IOCTL call made by the application program is not correct.

Could you let me know what is the problem?
Should I DL an earlier version of the program?

- Which version..?
- OS..? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP/Build..?)
- Other security related software installed..?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast..?
PC- Windows10 EDU 64Bit,avast! free 21.1.2449,uBlock Origin,NVT_OSA,GoogleChrome(64bit),CCleaner,Unchecky,ZAM Free,Shadow Defender.

See if this helps:

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed
