Free Avast Won't Download
« on: September 16, 2016, 07:27:31 PM »
Avast won't download on my computer. Everytime I click "run," I get this message, which makes absolutely no sense.

"The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dybanic link libtrary KERNEL.32.dll."

If you are going to give us a reason for why the program won't download, at least say something that people can actually understand. The purpose of language is to communicate.

Also, when I tried to log in to your forum using Facebook, your site said I could not log in, because my Facebook does not have an email Address associated with it. Excuse me, but yes it does.

Then I tried to register on your forum with a new account, and then when I put in my email Address, I was told that my email Address was already in use. And then when I tried to use that email to log in, I couldn't log in, so I proceeded to request a new password. Then I was notified that my email was not registered on the site. A total contradiction!

COME ON AVAST. I NEED YOU TO WORK WITH ME.

Where are you trying to download avast from ?
Is it the off-line or on-line installer ?
Check this topic for direct download links - use the offline version - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=189836.0.

I have answered your secondary question in your other topic.

It is not about the download.
" The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dybanic link libtrary KERNEL.32.dll"
That means his CPU doesn't support the SSE2 instruction set.

I would say the OP has a old system and/or not SP3 (on XP) installed.

If that the case, then follow the instructions here:

Re: The procedure entry point Get Logical Processor Information could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

I previously had this exact same error message, this is what Senior Avast Team Member told me.....

"This looks like broken installation of SP3 because this entry point was added to Windows XP in SP3. I would suggest to reinstall SP3 if it's possible. My testing XP system kernel32.dll (located in C:\Windows\System32) 5.1.2600.6532."
