FIREWALL

After an automatic windows vista 64 bit update I now have an issue where I get a flag in my tray from the avast internet security that my firewall is off and it wont allow me to turn it on regardless of turning the firewall off or on in windows security. Any reason why?

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed

If Repair doesn't fix the problem, try the following:
Clean Install of Avast:

Perform a repair of avast.
If that doesn't solve it, perform a clean installation.

Sometimes Windows updates screw-up installed applications like avast.
