Private mode inside banking mode needed
« on: September 28, 2016, 07:46:05 AM »
Hi,

when using the banking mode it would be very helpful to have the private browsing mode automatically enabled.
I don't want to have some cookies, caches or even my browsing history recoreded when being inside banking mode.

Is there a setting available or just not possible, maybe i can have all that data deleted automatically (as in Firefox) when closing the banking mode browser ?

Frank

Hi

did read that whole section but found no answer to my problem.
I can either open an incognito window or a banking window.
But as stated inside the banking window some data are stored, cookies, cache files and history.
Ok, i can clear them manually, but this is not what i expect from a banking mode!

The answer is there in that FAQ.
Quote
provides a virtual desktop which acts as a safe and clean computer within your real computer.
What is in the VM stays in the VM and should be deleted when you close it.

Sorry that's not true.

when i close the banking browser and re-open it the formerly typed in URL's are already in the history available.
And i just checked that also cookies are NOT deleted when you close the banking mode.

So what ?

What happens if you close the SafeZone browser ?
Is everything deleted then ?

That doesn't sound good to me.
Perform a repair of avast and see if things change.
Make sure you have the latest version installed.

Same issue after repair Avast,

Still in bank mode cookies, history and cache are persistent across re-starts.

Very sad, this is something i would expect from a banking mode

I would say contact avast (ticket) > https://support.avast.com

I hope it is just a problem on your system and not with the design of the SafeZone Browser itself.
When cookies, history and such aren't deleted when the browser is closed it is not much of a "SafeZone" browser.
You might as well just use any browser that has the option to delete them on closing such as Opera has.
The only thing that should stay are the bookmarks.
And for safety reasons they should be stored encrypted.

Hi frank.zimmer :)

I think you have a point here : At least there should be the possibility to open an incognito window in banking mode.

Actually, Frank is right. Bank mode is not designed to be like incognito window. It's protection is in something else - see section How does Bank Mode protect my privacy? in help

In next release there will be one profile for both normal and bank mode.. So it even does not make sense to delete history every time bank mode is closed because it will be reflected in normal mode too.

Incognito window will be enabled in the Bank mode.

btw. There is also another new feature planned that history and cookies will be deleted when browser is closed. You will be able to enable this feature in browser settings.
