Here's the path for avast5.ini: C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast

DJBone

Ah yes there's my mistake, I was looking in Program Files not Program Data directory, they both have similar paths.

All of our user-modifiable files reside under ProgramData\Avast Software while all of our binaries lurk in Program Files\Avast Software.  Just so it's easier to remember ;)

any updates on this issue, i couldn't edit that ini file (didn't bother with safe mode) so in passive mode, i guess these issues may become more common with other games.

To edit the ini file you first need to disable Avast self defense:

I played Forza a little earlier and then heard about an update to Avast so I installed it a few minutes ago. Now Forza won't work again.

Hello,
in which phase does it crash? During the intro?

I have the same problem. I bought Forza Horizon 3 and everything ran so smooth until yesterday. Since yesterday, I am expiriencing startup problems with Forza Horizon 3. It crashes in the "Playground" logo, and it does'nt leave and error code or log. I googled it and it said that it may be caused because of Avast Antivirus. I uninstalled Avast but it did'nt help. I also raed that it helps to disable the mic for the game but it did'nt change a thing. Can you help me with this? I just want to play Forza Horizon... Thank you.

(sorry for bad english)

Did you use the Avast Clear Tool: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe to remove Avast ???
